Indian Air Force background

Before turning to full-time literary and research work, he served 32 years in the Indian Air Force and retired as a Warrant Officer in 2016. Alongside operational duties, his service included administrative and human-resource functions. This experience shaped the archival discipline and documentation method visible in his scholarly work.

Haryanvi Ragni scholarship

A major strand of his work is the systematic academic study of Haryanvi Ragni through literary criticism, folk-performance analysis and Pingal-based structural examination. It documents:

  • traditional Ragni structures
  • Saang-Shaili performance traditions
  • prosodic systems within oral poetry
  • regional folk aesthetics
  • cultural memory and vernacular identity

His published work examines major folk narratives including Heer–Ranjha, Kissa Bhagat Puranmal, Adhirājan and Draupadi: Ek Lok Chetna.

Pingal methodology and prosodic research

Classical Pingal studies focused on Sanskrit and medieval poetic systems. His methodology extends prosodic examination into living oral-performance traditions, to give Haryanvi Ragni literature a structured framework for technical analysis. The framework covers:

  • Matra balance analysis
  • Guru–Laghu sequencing
  • Yati structures
  • refrain systems
  • oral rhythmic cadence
  • Chhand-Vidhan documentation

Translation and transcreation

He has also worked on translation and transcreation across Hindi, Haryanvi and English. His English-language works include:

These works aim to introduce regional literary consciousness to wider readerships while preserving the original cultural meaning.

His independent initiatives include:

  • Triad Mission for Haryanvi: From Boli to Bhasha
  • Haryanvi Grammar Documentation Project
  • Pingal Terminology Preservation Initiative
  • Haryanvi–Hindi–English Dictionary Project
  • Avikavani Folk Literature Archival Initiative

These are supported by GitHub-based digital infrastructure, metadata indexing, research repositories and ISBN-registered publications.

He is a native of Sonipat, Haryana, and currently lives and works in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
