About the Author

Anand Kumar Ashodhiya is an Indian poet, translator, and cultural writer, known in the Haryanvi literary world as Kavi Anand Shahpur. He writes and translates across Hindi, Haryanvi, and English, with a strong focus on folk traditions, modern poetry, and literary ethics.

A former Warrant Officer of the Indian Air Force, he served for thirty-two years with distinction and was formally honoured for his contributions to Rajbhasha Hindi. He holds a Postgraduate degree in English Literature from Annamalai University, enabling him to bridge Indian vernacular literature with global English readership.

Rooted in the cultural ethos of Haryana, his literary name derives from his ancestral village Shahpur Turk (Sonipat, Haryana). He has authored over 380 literary compositions, including poems, ragni, dohā, ghazal, folk epics, short narratives, and critical reinterpretations.

Ashodhiya is the founder of Avikavani Publishers and continues to publish original and translated works that preserve and reinterpret Indian literary heritage.
